Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a non-profit in Washington D.C. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll for employees across multiple departments. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing you to work both remotely and from our office in Washington, DC. If your background aligns with this description, please don't hesitate to apply

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly and/or monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Review timekeeping data and resolve any discrepancies related to employee attendance, overtime, and leave.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, ensuring that all payroll taxes and deductions are accurate.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax reports, including quarterly and annual filings.
  • Maintain and update employee records, including salary changes, benefits enrollment, and deductions.
  • Assist with the setup and management of employee benefit programs (health insurance, 401(k), etc.).
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll-related questions, deductions, and tax filings.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end payroll reconciliation processes.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless onboarding, terminations, and other employee status changes.
  • Stay current on payroll-related regulations, tax changes, and best practices to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with audits and reporting as needed.
