About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Human Resources Specialist to join our team at Damar Services. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a vital role in fostering positive relationships with employees, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting the overall success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with full-cycle recruiting responsibilities, including creating and managing job postings, sourcing candidates, and conducting applicant interviews.
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees, addressing their questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with employee relations issues and questions, ensuring a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Collect and file required annual documentation, including Bureau of Motor Vehicle Checks and OIG (Medical Exclusion Checks).
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR department, including audits, annual background checks, and TB tests.
  • Support New Employee Orientation, including collecting and filing documents, entering new hires into HRIS, and conducting TB tests or Chest X-Rays/Assessments.
  • Assist in responding to, managing, and resolving conflicts with employees and managers.
  • Conduct investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, hostile work environment, and other serious policy violations.
Requirements
  • Minimum Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in an office position.
  • Previous experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and/or Human Resource Information Systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements.
  • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs.
  • Valid Indiana driver's license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar's insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical required.
Physical Demands

The primary functions of this role require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting, including standing or sitting for prolonged periods, occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs).

The role also requires the ability to operate office equipment, including a computer keyboard, and to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation.

The successful candidate will be able to see in the normal visual range with or without correction and hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
