Position Overview:
  • An Advanced Practice Provider (APP) collaborates closely with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive medical care, perform evaluations, and assist in surgical procedures. APPs play a vital role in the development and execution of patient care strategies, serving as researchers, consultants, and advocates for patients. They are responsible for formulating care protocols and delivering a broad spectrum of healthcare services.
  • The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) operates as a specialist, engaging in education, consultation, research, and leadership roles. By working independently and in partnership with other healthcare professionals, the APRN significantly enhances nursing practices and the quality of patient care. Key responsibilities encompass health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and education for patients and their families.
  • A Physician Assistant (PA) practices medicine under the supervision of a physician, providing essential health services to individuals and families. Responsibilities include gathering patient histories, conducting physical examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests, performing medical procedures, and addressing various health concerns. The PA also emphasizes patient education and ethical healthcare delivery.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Education/Certification and Licensure:
    • Current and valid Hawaii State license as an APRN or Physician Assistant
    • Specialty board certification relevant to the assigned area for APRNs
    • Additional certifications may be necessary based on specific assignments
    • Credentialing and privileging for medical level of care providers
    • BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENLS certification required
    • APRN Board Certifications: ACNP or AGACNP
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience or completion of an APRN Fellowship Program for APRNs
    • Preferred one (1) year of clinical experience as an APRN or Physician Assistant
Compensation Range: $147,971.00 to $169,728.00 annual salary
