Position Overview: The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive primary care services. Collaborating closely with physicians, the APP is responsible for health promotion, injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of various health conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a wide array of primary care services to patients of all ages.
- Engage in community health education and advocate for patient needs.
- Conduct patient assessments, perform diagnostic tests, and make necessary referrals.
- Prescribe medications and execute office procedures within the established scope of practice.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- At least two years of experience as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in a clinical setting.
- Preferred: Four years of prior healthcare experience.
Licensure and Certification:
- Must hold a current and valid license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in South Carolina.
- Alternatively, must be licensed by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners as a Physician Assistant.
- Current NCCPA certification is mandatory.
- Must possess a valid state and federal DEA registration.
- Completion of the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment.
- ACLS certification is preferred.
Physical Requirements: The role demands a Medium Physical Agility Test Rating. Candidates must be capable of performing various physical activities, including standing, walking, and lifting objects weighing up to 35 pounds. Regular exposure to infectious materials and soiled items is expected, necessitating adherence to safety protocols.
