The Physician Assistant will play a vital role in delivering patient care and collaborating closely with the clinical team, center staff, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical services and collaborate on the development and implementation of patient care plans with the supervising director as needed.
  • Gather patient medical histories and conduct physical assessments and preventive health measures within established guidelines.
  • Initiate necessary laboratory and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Analyze laboratory and diagnostic results.
  • Consult with supervising medical directors, clinical personnel, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care and formulate comprehensive care plans. Refer complex cases to the appropriate medical director.
  • Facilitate consultations and referrals as necessary.
  • Address patient inquiries and direct questions to the physician or medical director as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all patient care services in the electronic medical record system.
  • Provide health education and counseling to patients and their families as needed, supporting programs designed for patient and family engagement.
  • Respond to questions regarding conditions and treatment plans.
  • Engage in performance improvement and risk management initiatives.
  • Complete all required ongoing training and education, including practice-specific requirements.
  • Exhibit professional conduct and adhere to organizational policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with medical directors and clinical staff in a team-oriented approach to patient care.

Qualifications

  • DOT Certification.
  • Experience as an X-Ray Technician.
  • Essential experience in Urgent Care or Hospital/Emergency Room settings.
  • Comfortable managing a diverse patient population in an Urgent Care environment.
  • Ability to work effectively within a clinical team.
  • Demonstrated professional integrity and ethical practice.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with practical conflict resolution abilities.
  • Patient-centered approach with a commitment to delivering compassionate care and service.
  • Strong computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic medical records.

Educational Requirements

  • Master's degree and successful completion of an accredited physician assistant program.
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in California.
  • Board certification.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
