Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Coach for Students with Disabilities to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will provide support to PK-6 teachers, paraprofessionals, and school leaders in implementing Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) in elementary mathematics classrooms, with a focus on students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-design and facilitate professional learning opportunities with school sites to enhance intervention and support for students with disabilities in CGI classrooms.
  • Develop and implement content for a range of audiences, aligned with research and elementary mathematics content and frameworks.
  • Recruit, develop, and nurture relationships with teacher leaders from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Collaborate with instructional leadership teams to provide support for students with disabilities.
  • Stay up-to-date with policies and practices associated with special education, inclusion, and intervention.
Requirements
  • Proven experience with Cognitively Guided Instruction and supporting students with disabilities in elementary mathematics classrooms.
  • Ability to positively communicate and build relationships with stakeholders, including colleagues, principals, instructional leaders, teachers, and families.
  • Working knowledge of policies and practices associated with special education, inclusion, and intervention.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a background check and sign the Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse.
