Green Dot California Central Office is seeking a highly skilled Spanish Curriculum Specialist to support teachers in implementing the Green Dot Spanish Program at multiple high schools.
Key Responsibilities- Provide instructional coaching and support to teachers to implement grade-level CCSS and CA World Language Framework-aligned instruction to all students.
- Promote standards-based instruction through demonstration lessons, focused observations, and professional development on research-based instructional strategies and classroom practices.
- Assist with curriculum planning and development to ensure mastery of CCSS standards and Green Dot selected curricular materials.
- Support the design and implementation of the Spanish Language program strategic plan.
- Collaborate with school site administration and department chairs/teacher leaders to plan and facilitate Spanish professional development.
- Engage in other duties relevant to the successful implementation of the Spanish Language Program.
- At least 4 years of teaching experience at the high school level.
- Experience teaching native speakers, non-native speakers, and/or AP Spanish.
- Bachelor's degree plus successful completion of the CBEST and CSET examinations (a Master's in Education or related field preferred).
- Valid CA Single Subject Spanish Credential.
- Solid knowledge of subject matter including CA State Framework for World Language Standards.
- Solid knowledge of adult learning theory and new teacher developmental needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs of a diverse student population.
- Experience in developing and facilitating professional development.
