Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at New York State. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of foods, supervising kitchen staff, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of foods, including soups, sauces, meats, fish, vegetables, and baked goods.
  • Supervise kitchen staff in the storage, preparation, cooking, and dispensing of food.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen facilities, utensils, and equipment.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and served in a safe and timely manner.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Three years of experience in large-scale cooking, with at least one year of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with a culinary arts degree or certification preferred.
