Job Summary

Job Title: Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Compass Group Careers. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and cooking of foods, as well as coordinating the activities of cooks and other food-service associates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards.
  • Supervise hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and recommending disciplinary action as needed.
  • Store food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils, and clean workstations thoroughly before leaving the area.
  • Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Demonstrate a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers.
Requirements:
  • Prior food service experience is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
