Position Overview

Are you a self-motivated individual with a knack for mechanics, prioritizing customer satisfaction and safety? Join our team as a Medical Equipment Technician. Under the guidance of the Installation Project Manager, you will be responsible for comprehensive equipment setup, adhering to specified plans and requirements, which includes scheduling, delivery, installation, testing, and final inspection of equipment.

This role is remote and customer-facing. Candidates must reside in designated territories to effectively support our clients.

*Please note this position requires significant overnight travel

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Installation Project Manager to coordinate installation schedules with equipment delivery and customer availability.
  • Before installation, confirm that the site’s dimensions and utilities meet the equipment requirements. Ensure that access points are adequate for transporting equipment.
  • Check that the delivered equipment matches the order specifications. If discrepancies arise, consult the Installation Project Manager for guidance.
  • Carry out the installation of STERIS products, which includes unboxing, assembling, positioning, leveling, connecting utilities, and testing the unit.
  • Work independently and complete service documentation electronically.
  • Conduct tests with live utilities and initiate basic operations to ensure the integrity of the installation.
  • Provide regular updates via email to keep all stakeholders informed and ensure timely handover to local technicians, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Guarantee customer satisfaction through post-installation tasks, including the disposal of packing materials and ensuring the equipment is clean and free of fingerprints.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with customers, contractors, management, and colleagues. Follow all health and safety protocols.
  • Manage tools and submit an annual inventory to the assigned manager.
  • Maintain an inventory of installation materials in accordance with scheduled activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in mechanical, construction, or a related field, along with one year of relevant experience. Alternatively, a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of five years of related experience, including vocational training.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient technical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Familiarity with computers and Windows software.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including outside of standard business hours.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays.
  • Must comply with customer credentialing requirements.
