Position SummaryWe are looking for a qualified and proactive Biomedical Equipment Technician to enhance our operational team. In this role, you will be essential in guaranteeing the safety, reliability, and performance of medical devices. Your duties will include a variety of tasks such as preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, equipment inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on a wide array of medical devices to ensure peak performance and longevity.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in medical equipment, following established guidelines and technical specifications.
- Perform inspections on newly acquired medical devices to confirm adherence to safety and operational standards.
- Work alongside IT and cybersecurity teams to uphold medical device security protocols, safeguarding patient information.
- Install and calibrate medical equipment according to manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
- Execute electrical safety inspections to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with medical equipment.
- Monitor and respond to safety recalls, coordinating with manufacturers for effective resolution.
- Manage software updates and repairs on medical devices to enhance functionality and ensure system compatibility.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections using computerized management systems.
- Provide technical guidance and training to medical personnel on the proper use and maintenance of equipment.
- Stay informed about industry advancements and regulatory changes related to biomedical technology.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal equipment performance and contribute to improved patient care.
- A two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training.
- Proven ability to perform maintenance and repair services on various medical devices.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and schematics.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare setting performing medical equipment maintenance.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain federal public trust clearance.
- Must provide proof of COVID and flu vaccinations or appropriate exemption documentation.
The salary for this position is influenced by various factors, including location, candidate qualifications, and organizational requirements. The anticipated salary range is between $50,000 and $63,000, with additional compensation options available.
