POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT

The Senior Project Accountant at Moss is tasked with analyzing contracts and agreements for accounting-related information, as well as reviewing and preparing financial statements for projects. This role adheres to Moss' policies and procedures while promptly communicating any potential profitability or risks to management. Additionally, the position supports the month-end closing process and prepares various required reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Examine owner contracts, addendums, and exhibits to ensure financial and risk compliance is accurately tracked.
  • Interpret and comprehend the financial requirements of owner contracts as they pertain to the project.
  • Review Project Change Instructions (PCI) prior to posting in CMiC for accuracy, including the correct usage of PCI types.
  • Maintain the Notice to Owner Log within established enterprise software.
  • Verify coding and approval of invoices processed for assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure compliance for timely vendor payments.
  • Input budgets for new or added project phases.
  • Manage subcontractor billings, tracking, and payments through Textura, working closely with the Project Management team for approved sub-SOVs and monitoring the monthly billing cycle.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly submissions to clients.
  • Assist in the collection of accounts receivable as needed for the project.
  • Oversee and manage all accounts established for the project.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for subcontractor check releases.
  • Facilitate the release of liens and claims as required, primarily for Owners due to Textura automation.
  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll time sheet entries and collections for job sites.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate owner billing reconciliations to job cost.
  • Support the Project Manager with accounting reports and issues, auditing and reconciling job cost details to assist in forecasting.
  • Monitor the sub-guard program with the risk department to validate contract values and enrolled subcontractors.
  • Work alongside the Project Manager and CCIP Coordinator to manage CCIP, OCIP, or corporate insurance programs for the project.
  • Collaborate with EBIX and the project team to ensure all subcontractors are compliant.
  • Be flexible and willing to travel as necessary, working either on-site at the corporate office or at project locations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (preferred).
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project accounting with a general contractor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including V-Lookups and Tables.
  • Ability to take initiative, work collaboratively, and think independently.
  • Strong working knowledge of cost analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Capacity to manage confidential information.
