Accounting Manager Job Description

Oceana is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to oversee all accounting functions for our US entity. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of accounting professionals, ensuring the effective performance of accounting functions, and maintaining compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accounting Function Management: Oversee all accounting functions, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, analysis of general ledger accounts, and enforcement of internal policies.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities to ensure their success.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Payroll Operations: Oversee payroll operations, including processing payroll, managing benefits, and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to management on financial matters, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate degree in business or accounting required.
  • Experience: At least seven years of relevant progressive accounting experience, with prior management experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in accounting software and systems.
