About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeping Specialist to join our team in Spokane. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about numbers and want to make a real impact in a dynamic organization.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various bookkeeping tasks, including payroll functions, annual reporting, and financial reconciliations. They will also be required to process rental payments, security deposits, and program fees, as well as prepare financial reports through collection, analysis, and summarization of data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform payroll functions in an accurate and timely manner, and submit payroll taxes.
  • Annual reporting including W-2's, 1099's, ID Form 967 -Annual Withholding Report, and Form 940- Employer's Annual Federal Unemployment (FUTA) Tax Return.
  • Monthly reconciliations of bank and general ledger accounts, and other reconciliations on an as-needed basis.
  • Monthly grant billing to public and private sources, maintain grant files, and track spending by budget category.
  • Process rental payments, security deposits, and program fees.
  • Process in-kind donations, volunteer hours, & assign monetary values to items donated.
  • Prepare financial reports through collection, analysis, and summarization of data.
  • Weekly accounts receivable & accounts payable processing.
  • Quarterly preparation, filing, and payment of excise taxes.
  • Assist with annual audit preparation.
  • Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
