Job Summary

UCHealth is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team in our ambulatory care settings. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will be responsible for registering patients for services, performing receptionist and clerical duties, and ensuring that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with patients and/or their caregivers to exchange necessary information and documentation.
  • Communicate with referring providers' offices, clinical departments, and/or other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information and determine schedules.
  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre-certification/authorization as necessary.
  • Determine and accept required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refer to financial counselors for follow-up.
  • Ensure that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
