This is a high-compensation opportunity for a Patent Portfolio Administrator to join a top law firm in the US. The ideal candidate will have applicable Intellectual Property Experience and a strong understanding of U.S. patents.

About the Role

The Patent Portfolio Administrator will be responsible for accurately tracking billable and non-billable hours, submitting entries promptly, and meeting the required hours for billable and non-billable work. The successful candidate will also be responsible for drafting, preparing, and proofreading emails, memoranda, and other documents for internal staff, clients, and assignees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately track billable and non-billable hours and submit entries promptly
  • Meet the required hours for billable and non-billable work
  • Draft, prepare, and proofread emails, memoranda, and other documents for internal staff, clients, and assignees
  • Assist in drafting and e-filing various legal documents with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office
  • Format utility/provisional specifications for PTO filing and maintain compliance with the Manual of Patent Examining Procedure (MPEP) structural and formatting requirements
  • Review and maintain docket calendars for assigned clients and calculate docket dates independently as a secondary review
  • Prepare agendas for client meetings and maintain both electronic and paper files
Requirements
  • Skilled in navigating PTO platforms such as EFS, PAIR, EPAS, WIPO, and PTO Financial Manager
  • Comprehensive understanding of U.S. patents
  • Experience in preparing complex IDSs and staying updated on related rules and processes
  • Strong knowledge of IP docketing systems
