Role Summary and Requirements

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care. Collaborating with medical professionals, the RN provides both pre-operative and post-operative care, advocating for patients to ensure an exceptional healthcare experience.

The Stroke/Brain unit is dedicated to providing advanced care to minimize stroke impacts, helping patients regain their health and functionality. Recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, our facility treats over 1,200 stroke patients annually.

Unit Highlights:

  • Strong teamwork focused on quality care and patient satisfaction.
  • Ongoing education related to neurology and stroke care.
  • Enhanced coordination of care with various medical disciplines.
  • 16-bed unit specializing in comprehensive stroke patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient conditions upon admission and throughout shifts, promptly reporting any changes.
  • Execute medical procedures as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Document care provided in patient medical records accurately and timely.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
  • Maintain knowledge of medications and equipment used in cardiac and medical-surgical care.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Current Registered Nurse license.
  • Registered Nurse diploma required.
