Role Responsibilities

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. Collaborating with medical professionals, the RN provides both pre-operative and post-operative nursing services. The RN acts as a patient advocate to ensure an outstanding patient experience.

About the Unit:

  • Strong teamwork focused on quality care, patient safety, and satisfaction.
  • Ongoing educational opportunities related to neuro care and cerebrovascular accidents.
  • Enhanced coordination of care with support from neurology, therapy services, case management, and nursing.
  • 16-bed unit dedicated to comprehensive stroke care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, promptly reporting any changes.
  • Carry out procedures as directed by medical providers.
  • Accurately document care provided in the patient medical record.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
  • Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment pertinent to cardiac and medical-surgical care.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Current Registered Nurse license.
  • Registered Nurse diploma required.
