Position Summary:

The selected candidate will engage in system software integration for the anti-submarine warfare (ASW) sector, focusing on the development and testing of submarine SONAR and weapon system interfaces within a simulated tactical laboratory setting. This role involves software systems development and integration on extensive systems in agile frameworks, as well as executing software integration tasks on medium to large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and troubleshoot a variety of software, hardware, and infrastructure challenges related to the integration of complex systems comprising multiple subsystems and functional capabilities.
  • Collaborate with team members to address issues impacting project execution or performance, providing regular status updates.
  • Participate in the complete system engineering lifecycle, including software development, integration, hardware setup, testing definition, planning, certification, delivery, and production support.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in software development and integration for medium to large-scale programs.
  • Experience coordinating integration and testing activities across multiple organizations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on:
    • Software development lifecycles
    • Acoustic processing
    • Network engineering
    • Continuous integration
    • Virtualization and containerization technologies
    • Test scripting
    • Agile methodologies
    • Familiarity with Redmine or JIRA
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment with demanding project timelines.
  • Familiarity with SONAR and/or submarine weapon systems operations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding and application of software engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Experience with system integration, testing, and anomaly resolution.
  • Experience in software systems integration with Naval Systems.
  • Proficiency with the Linux operating system.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network configurations and performance issues.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, with strong software skills and a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in developing for SONAR and/or weapons systems, particularly in a submarine context.

Travel: Minimal yearly travel required.

Contract Type: Full-Time Employee, 40 hours/week.
