Job Title: Portfolio Chief Engineer - Space Systems

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Portfolio Chief Engineer to join our Space Systems team. As a key member of our engineering leadership team, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the portfolio portion of the product line technology roadmap. You will work closely with customers, end users, and development engineers to conceptualize, architect, and present solutions that solve the toughest mission needs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support key programs as a Chief Engineer/Chief Architect as needed to support Portfolio technology needs.
* Lead technical solution trades, definition, viability, and adequacy.
* Ensure system design and implementation meet technical requirements and customer/mission needs within allocated engineering cost & schedule.
* Participate in root cause investigations, helping coach team through technical assessments.
* Drive technical risk and opportunity definition, identification, and mitigation/realization.
* Support generation of the Product Line Technology Director Technology Roadmap and Technology Strategy.
* Work with the Portfolio, Technical SMEs, and Business Leaders to generate the Portfolio Technology Roadmap supporting the Product Line Technology Roadmap.
* Define, Lead, and at times work on IRaDs relevant to the Portfolio.
* Support growth of Chief Engineers within the Portfolio.
* Perform technical opportunity analysis and design, perform trade studies, and provide initial solution analysis supporting new opportunities.
* Utilize new business capture, solution design, and development experience to engage with government stakeholders, system architects, and developers to provide program area solutions.
* Ensure program Technical Baselines are defined and Architecture Review Boards are completed for Portfolio opportunities.
* Ensure the leverage technology product roadmap strategy is implemented for programs in the portfolio.

Requirements:

* Active/current Top-Secret clearance
* 15+ years in solution design and development
* Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills which facilitate working with others in a team environment.
* Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in engineering related discipline with 15+ years of experience after the date for the completion of your Bachelor's degree, or 13+ years of experience after the date for the completion of your Master's Degree
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to interface with senior internal personnel, often requiring coordination between organizations.
* Experience with design of space qualified microelectronics, processing, or networking solutions.
* Demonstrated strong requirements analysis and derivation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Active current Top/SCI clearance.
* Experience developing proposals, ECPs, and whitepapers focused on new business.
* Experience with customer/stakeholder communication, management, relationship building, and customer satisfaction.
* Experience with Model Based System Engineering or other mature System/Software design processes.
* Ability to coordinate, schedule and lead user engagement activities across multiple DoD and IC organizations with minimal oversight and direction.
* Exceptional verbal, writing and listening skills: Ability to communicate complex technical solutions across the development and customer environments.
* Chief Engineer experiences leading space qualified microelectronics, processing, or networking solutions.
* Travel to customers and suppliers (10%)
