About the Unit:
Our 22-bed Medical Oncology and Hematology Unit specializes in treating solid tumors through surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, as well as providing care for Sickle Cell patients. We administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and blood products.

Patient Care Ratio:
3-4 patients per nurse

Position Overview:
The Clinical Unit Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the daily operations of a specific shift within the clinical unit. This role involves supervising staff and facilitating effective communication with physicians and internal administrators to ensure optimal patient and family-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead efforts to enhance organizational systems that align with the department's mission, vision, and values.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, conflict resolution, and collaboration.
  • Demonstrate clinical insight and sound judgment in risk-taking.
  • Model expert communication skills and provide guidance to colleagues.
  • Evaluate and revise operational forms to improve effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures while remaining informed of innovative clinical trends.
  • Support the development of leadership skills among staff members.
  • Address customer concerns and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Participate in regulatory agency reviews and assist in administrative activities such as budget planning and staffing coordination.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and have at least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with a focus on the relevant specialty. A valid, active nursing license is required, along with BLS certification. ACLS certification may be necessary in designated departments.
