About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our team to support a DARPA Research, Development, Test, & Evaluation initiative for Coalition partners and the United States. This will include the continued development and integration of command-and-control capability in the DARPA Experimentation Node (DEN).

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate, test, and debug Blue/Red force entity Behavior Models and Weapons Models using the Next Generation Threat Simulator (NGTS)
  • Generate, test, and debug new and existing DE2 Scenarios within NGTS
  • Coordinate with VFDE OPs Team to ensure the operational relevance and realism of generated Behavior/Weapons Models and DE2 Scenarios
  • Maintain working knowledge of all DE2 Toolboxes and comprising applications
  • Operate DE2 M&S Tools, including AST, STK, SPYSE, TSPAR, and SIGMA, both independently and in support of NGTS-enabled scenario execution
  • Operate VFDE-developed Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) applications enabling interaction with generated DE2 scenarios
  • Leverage modeling and scenario generation expertise to provide support during DE2 testing and execution events
Requirements
  • B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
  • Ability to represent successful completion of work in Agile Management systems (e.g. Jira, Confluence, GitLab)
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux
  • Experience with Docker container-related technologies (i.e. Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Modeling and Simulation (M&S), particularly Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) M&S
  • Experience using NGTS
  • Experience with Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) network protocol
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience working together with several different teams to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan
