Job Title: Model Based Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

The selected Model Based Systems Engineer will be responsible for turning customer goals and needs into digital models. This involves communicating with customers and IDT designers to establish product features and capabilities that apply digital engineering technologies for rapid assessment and deployment of capability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and decompose requirements, review software designs, generate test cases, test procedures, and test plans, and troubleshoot discrepancies to fulfill customer needs
  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify life cycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
  • Evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all functional and program interfaces
  • Support Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) activities to identify program requirements and relationships, and manage the execution of the systems engineering process, including interfaces, key performance parameters, and operational concepts
  • Provide mission analysis to support definition of technical requirements and interfaces, provide analysis of alternatives, guide development, and evaluate expected performance against requirements and mission needs
  • Apply model-based system engineering (MBSE) to define system functions and develop functional and performance requirements
  • Apply model-based system engineering (MBSE) to develop architectural views using DoDAF/MODAF (UPDM) and Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
  • Communicate directly with customers and users to understand need and drive cross-functional technical issues/challenges to closure
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or other STEM field
  • 3+ Years' demonstrated System Engineering experience using Cameo & Model Based System Engineering
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with military tactical products and Command & Control systems
  • Experience in DoDAF, SysML, and UML modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Hands-on experience with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge in related disciplines (e.g. System Engineering, Software Engineering)
  • Proven experience in use of descriptive modeling for system engineering solutions (e.g., building models and diagrams with Cameo EA)
  • Experience developing or testing large, complex systems
  • Experience designing and testing complex SW systems, especially DoD Systems or large distributed SW Solutions
  • Experience performing test and integration, applying best engineering practices, and developing test methodologies
  • Experience identifying and describing software interfaces
