Position Overview

The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment for all individuals within the organization, including patients, staff, and visitors. The following duties are indicative of the responsibilities typically associated with this role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and prioritize work schedules based on established goals, budget limitations, and preventive maintenance plans.
  • Ensure timely and efficient procurement of parts, equipment, services, and supplies.
  • Oversee plant operations personnel in accordance with established policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain a quality assurance program to evaluate products and services effectively.
  • Conduct inspections throughout the facility to ensure compliance with cleanliness and safety standards as per regulatory requirements.
  • Recruit, train, and manage staff responsible for various housekeeping functions.
  • Initiate requests for housekeeping supplies and coordinate maintenance tasks.
  • Act as the fiscal manager for the department.
  • Handle personnel management activities, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and employee relations.
  • Adhere to the organization’s ethical standards and customer service expectations.

Qualifications:

Education and Licensure: High School diploma or equivalent is required; technical training is advantageous.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in operations, facilities, and maintenance, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficient in reading technical blueprints and writing policies; strong management and supervisory skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, CMS, and Joint Commission standards in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Additional Requirements: Valid Driver's License.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other department leaders and personnel.
  • Capable of working with various external partners and organizations.
  • Willingness to work a standard forty (40) hour week, including weekends.
  • Strong conflict management skills with a focus on achieving mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Excellent multitasking and time management abilities.
  • Demonstrated follow-through on tasks and responsibilities.
  • Possess leadership qualities to effectively supervise and motivate staff.

  • Engage in physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Communicate effectively through spoken word, conveying detailed instructions to others.
  • Maintain auditory acuity to perceive sounds and communicate effectively.
  • Perform repetitive motions with hands and fingers; ability to exert significant force when necessary.
  • Visual acuity to complete administrative tasks and conduct inspections.
  • Ability to concentrate in environments with distractions and manage interruptions.
  • Generally work indoors with minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
