Position Summary:

As a Senior Asset Protection Manager, you will spearhead Asset Protection and Risk Management initiatives across designated stores, aiming to meet shortage and safety objectives while enhancing profitability. This role encompasses the Bloomingdale's Outlet Store division. Success in this position requires the consistent demonstration of key competencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Oversee the comprehensive asset protection strategy and shortage reduction initiatives within assigned outlets.
  • Contribute to the formulation of company-wide Asset Protection strategies and programs, providing guidance and leadership in their implementation.
  • Support all Risk Management initiatives, focusing on minimizing incidents and related financial impacts.
  • Influence necessary changes to achieve results aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Make informed decisions and stand by them.
  • Exhibit innovative thinking and willingness to take calculated risks with ideas and programs.

Staff Development:

  • Assist in recruiting, training, and managing Asset Protection personnel, fostering expertise in investigations, audits, and shortage reduction.
  • Evaluate the performance of Asset Protection staff in collaboration with store leadership.
  • Enforce policies and standards related to Asset Protection.
  • Set challenging yet achievable goals for staff that align with company objectives.
  • Analyze situations effectively, provide clear direction, and coach team members to reach desired outcomes.

Relationship Building:

  • Cultivate positive relationships within and outside the organization, including store leadership and law enforcement.
  • Collaborate with senior management to assess accountability for shortage programs.
  • Engage in leadership meetings to ensure compliance with operational policies.
  • Foster open communication across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to listen and value others' perspectives.
  • Collaborate effectively in problem-solving efforts.
  • Clearly articulate viewpoints supported by facts and expertise.

Administrative and Technical Expertise:

  • Ensure that shortage reduction plans are tailored, actionable, and measurable.
  • Manage physical security systems across all assigned locations, including CCTV and alarm systems.
  • Oversee investigation programs aimed at reducing theft and fraud.
  • Complete audits, analyze results, and develop strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Anticipate future needs and communicate them effectively.
  • Engage proactively in the New Store Opening process, collaborating with design and construction teams.
  • Manage multiple projects to successful completion.

Qualifications:

Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.

Minimum of 5 years of direct experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10-12 years of experience in managing retail Loss Prevention operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Track record of improving profitability through shortage reduction and enhanced safety practices.
  • Proficient in analyzing personnel and situations to drive performance.
  • Extensive experience in managing investigation programs.
  • Knowledge of current security technologies, including CCTV and alarms.

Physical Requirements:

  • Role involves prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • May require reaching, crouching, kneeling, and color vision.
  • Frequent use of technology, including computers and cash registers.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs regularly.
