Position Overview:

As the Senior Manager of Asset Protection (SAPM), you will spearhead Asset Protection and Risk Management initiatives across designated stores, aiming to meet shortage and safety objectives while enhancing profitability. This role encompasses the Bloomingdale's Outlet Store division. Success in this position requires the consistent demonstration of key competencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Oversee the comprehensive asset protection strategy and shortage reduction initiatives within assigned outlet locations.
  • Drive and support the formulation of corporate Asset Protection strategies and programs, providing leadership in their implementation.
  • Champion all Risk Management initiatives, focusing on minimizing incidents and financial losses.
  • Influence necessary changes to achieve results aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Make informed decisions and stand by them.
  • Exhibit innovative thinking and a willingness to take calculated risks with ideas and initiatives.

Staff Development and Supervision:

  • Assist in recruiting, training, and managing Asset Protection personnel within the stores. Cultivate skills in investigations, auditing, and shortage reduction.
  • Evaluate the performance of Asset Protection staff in collaboration with store leadership.
  • Enforce policies and standards related to Asset Protection and company guidelines.
  • Set challenging yet achievable goals for staff that align with company objectives.
  • Analyze situations effectively, provide clear direction, and coach team members to reach desired outcomes.

Building Partnerships:

  • Foster positive relationships within and outside the organization, including store leadership and law enforcement.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Operations to assess Store Leadership accountability for shortage management.
  • Engage in leadership meetings to ensure compliance with operational policies.
  • Maintain open communication channels at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to listen and value the perspectives of others.
  • Collaborate effectively with others to solve problems.
  • Clearly articulate viewpoints, supported by facts and expertise.

Administrative and Technical Expertise:

  • Ensure that shortage reduction plans are tailored, actionable, and measurable for each site.
  • Manage physical security systems in all assigned locations, including CCTV, alarms, and EAS systems.
  • Oversee internal and external investigations aimed at reducing theft and fraud.
  • Ensure completion of audits, analyze results, and develop strategies to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate shortages.
  • Anticipate future needs and expenditures, communicating these requirements effectively.
  • Actively participate in the New Store Opening process, ensuring alignment with operational needs.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects to successful completion.

Qualifications:

We welcome candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

A minimum of 5 years of direct experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 to 12 years of experience managing retail Loss Prevention operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Track record of improving profitability through shortage reduction and enhanced safety practices.
  • Ability to analyze personnel and situations effectively to drive performance.
  • Significant experience in managing internal and external investigations.
  • Knowledge of current security technologies, including CCTV, EAS, and alarms.

Physical Requirements:

  • Role involves prolonged periods of standing and walking within the store.
  • May require reaching, crouching, kneeling, and color vision.
  • Frequent use of technology, including computers and cash registers, is necessary.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 lbs.
