Position Overview:

As the Senior Manager of Asset Protection (SAPM), you will spearhead Asset Protection and Risk Management initiatives across designated stores, focusing on achieving safety and loss prevention objectives while enhancing profitability. This role encompasses the Bloomingdale's Outlet Store division. Success in this position requires the consistent demonstration of key competencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

Oversee the comprehensive asset protection strategy and loss reduction initiatives within assigned outlet locations. Drive and support the formulation of corporate Asset Protection strategies and programs, providing leadership in their implementation. Champion all Risk Management initiatives, aiming to minimize incidents and financial losses. Influence necessary changes to achieve results aligned with organizational objectives. Make informed decisions and stand by them. Exhibit innovative thinking and willingness to take calculated risks with ideas and initiatives.

Team Development:

Assist in recruiting, training, and managing Asset Protection personnel, fostering expertise in investigations, audits, and loss prevention strategies. Evaluate the performance of Asset Protection staff in collaboration with store leadership. Enforce Asset Protection policies and standards across the organization. Set challenging yet achievable goals for staff that align with company objectives. Analyze situations effectively, providing clear direction and coaching to achieve desired outcomes.

Relationship Building:

Cultivate positive relationships within and outside the organization, including store leadership, trade leadership, and law enforcement. Collaborate with senior operations leadership to assess accountability for loss prevention initiatives. Engage in leadership meetings to ensure compliance with operational policies. Foster open communication across all organizational levels. Demonstrate a willingness to listen and consider diverse perspectives. Collaborate effectively with others to solve problems. Clearly articulate viewpoints and support them with facts and expertise.

Administrative and Technical Proficiency:

Ensure that loss reduction plans are tailored, actionable, and measurable for each site. Manage physical security systems in all assigned locations, including CCTV, alarms, and EAS systems. Oversee internal and external investigations aimed at reducing theft and fraud. Complete audits, analyze results, and develop strategies to enhance operational efficiency and minimize loss exposure. Anticipate future needs and expenditures, communicating these requirements effectively. Actively participate in the New Store Opening process through strategic planning and execution. Manage multiple projects and tasks to successful completion.

Qualifications:

Candidates are encouraged to apply with either a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

A minimum of 5 years of direct experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

10 to 12 years of experience managing retail loss prevention operations. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Track record of improving profitability through loss reduction and enhanced safety practices. Strong analytical skills to assess people and situations effectively. Extensive experience in managing internal and external investigations. Knowledge of current security technologies, including CCTV, EAS, and alarm systems.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires prolonged periods of standing and walking within the store. May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, and color vision. Frequent use of technology, including computers and cash registers, is necessary. Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 25 lbs.
