Physical Demands
The essential functions of this role require the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull various weights daily, with frequent lifting of 25-50 pounds. The position also necessitates prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
Work conditions may involve exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and potential injuries from challenging patients or sharp instruments.
Shift Requirements
Must be available to work two 12-hour shifts each weekend, specifically Saturday and Sunday from 7 AM to 7:30 PM. This role entails working 24 hours weekly while receiving full-time compensation and benefits, as part of the Weekend Premium Plan (WEPP).
Position Overview
Registered Nurses in the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit are responsible for delivering care to patients across a spectrum from adults to geriatrics. Patient conditions include leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other hematologic malignancies.
The primary duties of this position involve providing comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care, which encompasses: assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a thorough nursing care plan; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating tasks to Nursing Care Technicians; and adhering to institutional policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
This role promotes collaborative efforts among nursing staff and physicians to enhance communication and improve patient outcomes. It incorporates the nursing process alongside a comprehensive patient-centered care plan to ensure satisfaction.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will exhibit outstanding technical skills and a proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with at least one year of RN experience is preferred.
