Pastry Sous Chef

Bern's Steak House is seeking a skilled Pastry Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our pastry kitchen, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional preparation of all desserts and pastries, while maintaining a strong team environment that meets our high standards.
Responsibilities- Lead daily pastry and Harry Waugh Room kitchen operations
- Motivate and train staff to achieve exceptional results
- Maintain professionalism and effective communication with team members, managers, and guests
- Monitor hours and adjust staffing levels to ensure seamless service
- Ensure prep and execution of all desserts and pastries
- Enforce uniform and attire standards
- Coach and counsel team members to achieve excellence
- Attend meetings and maintain positive inter-departmental relations
- Communicate with Pastry Management Team on shift issues
- Perform general cleaning duties, including equipment, floors, walls, coolers, and freezers
- Work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, days, nights, and holidays
- Knowledge of different cooking recipes and kitchen equipment
- Able to make high-quality desserts and pastries
- Follow ServSafe sanitary compliance and safety procedures
- Preferably, 2-year degree in Pastry Arts with a restaurant background
- High school diploma or higher and 2-year experience in pastry or related field
- Closed on Mondays
