Sous Chef Job Description

The Sous Chef is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for overseeing food production, quality, and kitchen cleanliness and safety. This role supports the Executive Chef in completing projects and may temporarily assume the duties of the Chef in their absence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and assist the kitchen staff in all aspects of food production
  • Ensure adherence to recipes, guidelines, and food safety standards
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly
  • Develop, coach, and train BOH team members
  • Follow portion sizes, quality standards, and department rules
Requirements:
  • 2 years' experience in a similar role with a minimum of 5 years' progressive BOH restaurant experience
  • Detailed-oriented with strong emphasis on accuracy and time management
  • Ability to interface with various levels of management using excellent communication skills
  • Strong familiarity with OSHA and local Department of Health Regulations
  • PC literate with working knowledge of Outlook, Esysco, and MS Excel
