Key Responsibilities
  • Fundraising and Development
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure $1.5M in annual funding
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, corporate partners, and foundations
    • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Development to develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan
  • Program Management
    • Oversee the management of our programs in New York, ensuring alignment with our national strategy and mission
    • Work closely with the Managing Director of Programs to ensure program success and high-quality delivery
    • Manage a $1.5M budget, ensuring spending decisions are aligned with priorities and goals
  • National Organizational Leadership
    • Collaborate with other Regional Leaders to ensure consistent implementation of organizational strategy and direction
    • Contribute perspectives from the New York region to national strategy and decision-making
    • Ensure the New York team is aligned with national structures and decisions
  • General Management
    • Manage administrative records and reporting, including data management systems and program management systems
    • Maintain consistent communication with the CEO, COO, and CPO on the health and wellbeing of the local program
    • Lead local risk management, ensuring regional operations and programming are in line with laws, regulations, and best practices
Requirements
  • 8+ years of demonstrated success building and leading a small organization or team in a fast-paced, direct-service, nonprofit organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to target a message to a variety of diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to identify donors and cultivate relationships leading to substantial commitments from those donors
  • Track record in successfully and positively managing other people
  • Experience and expertise supporting youth programming, preferably in the field of mentoring, education, and/or sports-based youth development
  • Commitment to racial equity and excitement about demonstrating that commitment in the execution of this position
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred
