Amalgamated Bank is seeking a seasoned Director of Operations, Banking to lead the banking division's operational strategy and ensure the successful execution of all operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the division's three-year strategy in support of the enterprise strategy.
  • Lead planning exercises to identify key initiatives to drive the operational strategy forward.
  • Leverage technology to ensure scalability and resiliency of operational units.
  • Oversee all aspects of banking division operations, including cash management, deposit operations, and loan servicing.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational structure, in-house/outsourced models, process workflows, and/or back-office systems.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels as the organization continues to grow.
  • Identify and develop top talent, ensuring succession plans are in place for all critical roles and operational areas.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum years of demonstrated operations management experience at a financial institution with knowledge of payment processing, item processing, and loan servicing.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, JIRA, or other ticketing systems.
  • Direct experience with rolling a ticketing system out across operational units is a plus.
  • Knowledge of bank systems, including banking cores, payment engines, and item processing exchanges.
  • Direct experience within the FIS ecosystem and the Horizon core is preferred.
  • Experience in large leading diverse teams to drive results, process improvement, and optimize efficiency.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing outcomes across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with M&A activity, specific to core and ancillary system conversions.
  • Six sigma certification is a definite plus.
What We Offer:

Amalgamated Bank offers a competitive salary range of $220,000 to $240,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
