Position Overview

The Supply Chain Superintendent plays a crucial role in the oversight and management of procurement, logistics, and material resources essential for operational success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement supply chain procedures while providing training to ensure effective system operations.
  • Manage contractual agreements related to the acquisition of materials, equipment, and services, ensuring adherence to corporate supply chain policies.
  • Coordinate with various departments to execute and assess the site sourcing, contracting, and purchasing strategy.
  • Assist in creating documentation to support compliance with policies and effective contract management, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with vendors and contractors.
  • Oversee the logistics and transportation of materials and equipment to and from operational sites.
  • Establish and manage procedures to maintain optimal stock levels across all locations.
  • Address supply chain performance issues, including delays, quality concerns, and discrepancies.
  • Conduct spend analysis and cost modeling to identify opportunities for service improvement, quality enhancement, and cost savings.
  • General administrative responsibilities include:
    • Participating in budget and forecasting processes.
    • Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
    • Recommending personnel selections and providing development opportunities for team members.
    • Conducting performance evaluations and recommending promotions or corrective actions as necessary.
    • Collaborating with corporate supply chain teams to support global initiatives.
    • Working with other departments to achieve collective goals.
    • Ensuring punctuality and regular attendance.
    • Performing additional duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in supply chain management, procurement, contract management, warehousing, and logistics, with a preference for project field experience in mining.
  • Experience in a complex supply chain environment with a deep understanding of procurement and logistics practices.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a management team.
  • Proven leadership skills with a focus on motivating teams and achieving results.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with senior management, line management, and external vendors.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Sound business judgment with a focus on achieving bottom-line results.
  • Professional ethics, tact, and courtesy in vendor and customer interactions.
  • Forward-thinking with the ability to make informed decisions for the company's long-term benefit.
  • Proficient technical skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with JD Edwards and SAP Arriba is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive under time constraints and adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • General understanding of mining, milling, and maintenance operations.
  • Willingness to travel to various site locations as required.
  • Fieldwork may be necessary in remote areas and across all seasons.

This position reports directly to the VP of Reclamation & Projects.

Compensation Overview

Annual Salary Range: $130,000-145,000 USD
