ROLE SUMMARY:

In the capacity of an Underwriting Administrative Specialist, you will play a vital role in bolstering the underwriting department by performing various administrative functions aimed at improving the precision and effectiveness of the underwriting workflow. Your responsibilities will encompass document handling, data entry, and facilitating communication with both internal and external stakeholders. By diligently managing returned mail and identifying incorrect addresses, you will provide essential insights to our teams, enabling agents to resolve issues and prevent policy lapses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Systematically organize returned mail according to policy numbers, client names, and other identifiers.
  • Accurately label documents for efficient retrieval.
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of returned mail items prior to flagging.
  • Identify and flag mail items with incorrect addresses or those deemed undeliverable.
  • Document details of returned mail, including reasons for return and any pertinent notes.
  • Update client records based on returned mail information to maintain accuracy.
  • Collaborate with various teams to address flagged issues and mitigate future mail complications.
  • Facilitate seamless information exchange between departments regarding returned mail.
  • Adhere to company policies and regulatory standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 1 year of office experience, preferably within the insurance industry.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and document management systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong time management capabilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with property and casualty insurance terminology is a plus.
