About the Role:

As the Plant HR Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all facets of the human resources department. You will collaborate with plant leadership to enhance employee relations, drive cultural transformation, cultivate leadership, identify areas for improvement, and execute the strategic HR vision to support the operational success in a Lean manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the effectiveness and continuous improvement of health and safety programs.
  • Collaborate with management to meet organizational goals while adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of training initiatives.
  • Conduct interviews for salaried positions, assess qualifications, and recommend top candidates.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with recruitment sources.
  • Manage salary structures, job documentation, and evaluation systems.
  • Design and facilitate new employee orientations.
  • Administer employee benefits and act as a liaison with insurance providers.
  • Recommend and schedule training and development opportunities.
  • Provide guidance on company policies and procedures.
  • Resolve policy-related inquiries and issues.
  • Maintain human resource databases and filing systems.
  • Propose operational policy improvements.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, and performance management systems.
  • Inform employees about policies, job roles, working conditions, and benefits.
  • Handle complex staffing challenges and disciplinary actions.
  • Advise management on organizational policies and recommend necessary changes.
  • Analyze and adjust compensation and benefits to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
  • Conduct new employee orientations to promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Serve as a mediator between management and employees to address concerns.
  • Supervise HR staff and coordinate employment and labor relations activities.
  • Develop policies to ensure consistency across the facility.
  • Oversee staffing and operational needs for new initiatives.
  • Provide strategic direction on human resources aspects of plant operations.
  • Lead the development and auditing of HR policies and procedures.
  • Investigate complaints of discrimination or harassment.
  • Assess training and development needs and lead training program initiatives.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and development processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Guide cultural assessments and action plan development.
Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of safety protocols, personnel training, and preventative maintenance.
  • Expertise in recruitment, selection, training, compensation, labor relations, and HR information systems.
  • Understanding of curriculum design and training methodologies.
  • Familiarity with business management principles, strategic planning, and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Insight into human behavior, motivation, and psychological assessment.
  • Experience in union and labor relations is essential.
Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of four years of comprehensive HR experience, with 5-7 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing context.
