Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join our team at the City of Austin. The successful candidate will provide legal support and assistance to our attorneys and staff, ensuring the highest level of integrity and service to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist attorneys with research, drafting, and preparation of legal documents and pleadings.
  • Conduct research and gather information to support legal cases and transactions.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys and staff, including managing files, calendars, and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies affecting the City of Austin.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus relevant experience in a legal setting.
  • Successful completion of an American Bar Association-approved paralegal training program or a paralegal training program conducted by an accredited college or university.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with drafting discovery, motions, and other civil litigation documents.
  • Experience working in a governmental setting processing non-litigation documents and assignments.
