Pharmacy Manager Job Description

Giant Food Pharmacy is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Manager to join our team. As a Pharmacy Manager, you will be responsible for establishing daily Pharmacy operations, working with Pharmacy support staff to efficiently process prescriptions, and ensuring compliance with State and Federal Regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish daily Pharmacy operations, including prescription processing and data entry using the latest pharmacy systems.
  • Work with the Clinical Program Team to coordinate and execute off-site immunization clinics, health and wellness activities, and community outreach programs.
  • Accurately process prescriptions in accordance with contract guidelines, ensuring proper adjudication of insurance claims and assisting medical providers and patients with prior authorizations.
  • Assist the Pharmacy Manager with ordering and maintaining pharmaceutical inventory, promoting customer engagement, and offering Giant pharmacy services.
  • Supervise Pharmacy support staff, assigning roles and managing workflow to enhance the customer experience.
  • Provide support to the Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacy team, and Store manager by effectively communicating and assisting with pharmacy promotion programs and health and wellness offerings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy and/or Doctor of Pharmacy.
  • Previous experience/background in retail pharmacy.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, travel to other stores, and have valid CPR license or basic life support certificate.
  • Immunization certifications in accordance with State regulations.
  • Strong inventory control understanding and capabilities, strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Strong proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations.
