Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Avionics/Electronics Mechanic I to join our team. As an Avionics/Electronics Mechanic I, you will be responsible for performing maintenance checks on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics, and controlled cryptographic equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on aircraft systems, including flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics, and controlled cryptographic equipment.
  • Maintain and repair avionics and electrical systems, including electrical power generation and distribution systems, integrated avionics systems, communication and navigation systems, mission equipment integration, sensors, and vehicle health monitoring systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose repairs, using a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices, such as gauges, torque wrenches, and scales, as well as test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment related to specific aircraft models.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Document all maintenance activities, including repairs, maintenance checks, and troubleshooting efforts.
Requirements
  • Valid up-to-date A&P license.
  • Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, Two (2) years rotary wing aircraft experience, and Two (2) years on the assigned MDS, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the calendar year.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • US Citizenship is required for a facility credentials/authorization at the work location.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and associated systems principles.
  • Knowledge of Quality Control, Production, and Supply procedures.
  • Ability to read, apply, and interpret technical data.
Working Conditions

The Avionics/Electronics Mechanic I will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft, as well as potential exposure to fumes or airborne particles, electrical shock hazards, and work near moving mechanical parts.
