Aviation Technology Associates LLC is seeking an Avionics Technician II.

Position Overview:

The Avionics Technician II will provide specialized technical support in the evaluation of aircraft systems, diagnosing and rectifying system issues to minimize operational disruptions. This role requires a demonstration of technical proficiency by implementing procedural improvements aimed at cost reduction while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The technician may also assume responsibilities of the Senior Avionics Technician, thereby upholding the company's commitment to safety and quality while following daily operational plans to meet scheduling demands.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Functions:

  • Exhibit technical expertise in the operational testing and troubleshooting of avionics and aircraft systems.
  • Carry out the installation and functional testing of electrical and avionics components and systems on aircraft in accordance with engineering specifications, schematics, and maintenance manuals to ensure a flawless system.
  • Guarantee the quality and efficiency of all installations; troubleshoot processes to deliver timely and effective repairs of malfunctioning systems.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to competently repair or replace defective components and wiring, ensuring installations conform to standards. Employ effective repair techniques, including splicing, soldering, and pinning of wiring.
  • Implement engineering changes and modifications as necessary.
  • Set up and operate required testing equipment. Conduct functional and operational tests to assess performance and reliability.
  • Ensure all work performed on the aircraft is thoroughly documented and prepared for inspection.
  • Test and maintain testing equipment, electronic systems, and components.
  • Adhere to the company's FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program, and all safety regulations.
  • Adapt to unexpected schedule changes.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may involve flight tests on aircraft as necessary.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • A & P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in an avionics or electrical field; or two (2) years of accredited education in aviation electronics combined with two (2) years of relevant experience.

Additional Skills:

  • Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of various aircraft systems beyond avionics, such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls, or structural installations and repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capability to climb stairs and ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Unique Skills Required:

  • Experience with live aircraft is preferred.
  • Proven troubleshooting experience is essential.
  • Experience in completions is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment is required.
  • Willingness to work varying shifts as needed.
