Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Avionics/Electronics Mechanic I to join our team as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance checks on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics, and controlled cryptographic equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance checks on aircraft systems, including flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics, and controlled cryptographic equipment.
  • Tool Maintenance: Maintain and manage common and special tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose repairs to ensure optimal aircraft performance.
  • Avionics and Electrical Systems: Maintain and test avionics and electrical systems, including complex software and hardware integration.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Valid up-to-date A&P license or three years of aviation maintenance experience, two years of rotary wing aircraft experience, and two years on the assigned MDS.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% of the calendar year.
  • Credentials: Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • Tools: Must provide own shadowed/etched tools and tool box.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Communication: Possess good communication skills and be adaptable, diversified, and capable of troubleshooting entire aircraft systems.
  • Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and associated systems principles to complete all probable work tasks.
  • Quality Control: Knowledge of Quality Control, Production, and Supply procedures required to perform job assignment.
  • Hand Tools: Able to properly use a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Technical Data: Must have skill in reading, applying, and interpreting technical data.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • Lifting: Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Work Environment: May work in an aircraft maintenance hangar or outside and may be exposed to extreme noise, fumes, or airborne particles.
