Job Title: LPN Gynecology Oncology

We are seeking an experienced LPN to join our team at Compass Oncology, a leading cancer care provider in the Portland and Vancouver communities. As a LPN Gynecology Oncology, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our interdisciplinary team in delivering exceptional cancer care.

Job Summary:

The LPN Gynecology Oncology will provide general nursing care to patients, including administering treatments, assisting with patient education, and observing and recording patient reactions to medications and treatments. This role requires a strong understanding of nursing standards and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide general nursing care to patients, including administering treatments and medications
  • Assist with patient education and provide pre/post-operative patient education on procedures, medications, and recovery expectations
  • Observe, record, and report patient reactions to medications and treatments to providers
  • Order/prescribe medications as directed by provider
  • Respond to/refers incoming telephone calls and instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions
  • Recognize when escalation is required to RN to maintain compliance with nurse practice act and state regulations for LPNs
  • Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and current medication reconciliation
  • Perform EKG and oximetry readings as requested by the provider
  • Send referrals, place orders, and request medical records as outlined by the provider
  • Maintain patient files, records, and other information
  • Initiate IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications in accordance with LPN/LVN state nurse practice act
Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing
  • At least 3 years' experience as a practical nurse
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred
  • Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state
  • Current American Heart Association accredited BLS certification required within 3 months of hire
