The Texas Tech University Libraries play a crucial role in supporting students and faculty in their academic pursuits. The library system includes multiple branches, providing access to millions of physical volumes and electronic resources, alongside specialized collections and archives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service in various service areas.
- Manage incoming phone inquiries and direct them appropriately.
- Maintain inventory of reserve materials.
- Collect and input statistical data on transactions.
- Assist patrons with reservations for group study rooms.
- Issue library cards and provide guest WiFi access.
- Act as a point of escalation for customer service inquiries and safety concerns.
- Conduct security rounds and manage lost and found items.
- Complete necessary reports and work orders.
- Provide additional training for student assistants and monitor their daily activities.
- Participate in the development and revision of library procedures.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least one year of related experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred:
- Independent thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with Integrated Library Systems and scheduling software.
- Previous experience in a library setting and supervisory roles.
