Job Description:

The Health & Human Services Comm is seeking a highly skilled Volunteer Services Coordinator IV to join our team. As a key member of our Community Relations Department, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing a volunteer services program that supports the mission and goals of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement volunteer recruitment plans and strategies to engage the community and attract volunteers.
  • Manage and oversee the Volunteer Services Council and Family Association, including providing technical assistance and support to ensure their success.
  • Provide media support to the center, including public service announcements, news stories, and press releases to promote volunteer opportunities and events.
  • Develop and oversee community relations and associated policies, publications, and other related information to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with facility staff to match clients' needs with volunteers' skills, and provide support to ensure the effective administration of the Community Relations Department.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in volunteer/nonprofit management, human or social services, or related field.
  • Four (4) years of related work experience, at least one (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Experience writing volunteer recruitment plans and/or grants, fundraising, special events planning, and/or provision of public information.

Working Conditions:

This position requires flexibility in work hours, including the possibility of working overtime and/or extended hours, weekends, and holidays. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment at a state-operated facility.
