Job Summary

The University of California, Irvine is seeking a highly skilled Senior Access Representative to provide exceptional customer service to patients calling to obtain medical services at UC Irvine Medical Center. As a key member of our team, you will serve as a preceptor for new staff and be responsible for ensuring a seamless patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality customer service to patients and families
  • Serve as a preceptor for new staff members
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of patient requests
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to resolve patient concerns
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of medical terminology, insurance programs, and government programs
Requirements
  • Minimum 6 months of experience working in a call center setting
  • 12 months of experience working in a healthcare setting or 12 months of experience working in a call center in a healthcare setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
  • Demonstrated experience working with a patient registration software system
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
