Access Representative

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Access Representative to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As an Access Representative, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients in our ambulatory clinics, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth registration process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter patient data into the registration system and verify insurance and/or third-party coverage
- Handle inbound and outbound calls to patients to schedule, confirm, modify, or cancel appointments
- Perform general clerical and reception duties
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months of experience working in a customer service position and 6 months in a call center setting or clinical setting with high call volume
- Demonstrated experience using office equipment, multi-line telephone systems, and computer software
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload and establish effective working relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and insurance programs
- Bilingual skill in Spanish or Vietnamese or Chinese
