OVERVIEW

The People Operations Manager plays a crucial role in formulating and implementing human resources strategies that align with the overarching business objectives and strategic vision of Southeast Concrete Systems, Inc. This position focuses on key areas such as talent acquisition, organizational development, employee performance management, training initiatives, and compensation strategies. The incumbent will ensure the effectiveness of organizational practices, adherence to regulations, and the synchronization of employee culture with the company's mission, vision, and core values. This role is office-based and demands a proactive leadership style along with exceptional communication skills across all organizational levels.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include additional tasks as assigned.

Talent Acquisition and Staffing


• Oversees all recruitment processes to fulfill staffing needs across various departments, collaborating with managers to identify specific hiring requirements and necessary competencies.


• Engages in the interview and selection process to maintain high standards of hiring across all levels, including operational staff, managerial roles, and executive positions.


• Enhances the onboarding experience for new hires in collaboration with operational leaders and external HR partners, ensuring smooth integration into the organization.


• Utilizes advanced recruitment tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter/Talent Hub and Culture Index software to streamline the hiring process.

Strategic Leadership and Planning


• Formulates and directs HR strategies that support the business's goals, continuously assessing and refining HR programs for improved effectiveness.


• Collaborates with senior management to shape and nurture the corporate culture and organizational framework, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and values.


• Strategically coordinates recruitment initiatives to meet long-term business objectives, establishing partnerships with educational institutions and industry organizations to attract top talent.

Employee Development and Management


• Develops and executes a comprehensive talent management strategy, including career progression paths, succession planning, and retention initiatives to foster company growth and adaptability.


• Creates and leads development programs for high-potential employees, preparing them for future leadership roles and ensuring continuity in leadership.


• Conducts talent assessments to evaluate skill sets and implements competency-based training programs to bridge skill gaps and align employee capabilities with operational demands.

Employee Relations


• Provides expert guidance on employee relations, policy interpretation, and HR procedures to promote fair and consistent management practices.


• Develops retention strategies and action plans based on employee feedback and data analysis, addressing challenges in departments with high turnover rates.

Performance Evaluation


• Enhances and manages a performance evaluation system that accurately reflects employee contributions and supports the company's objectives.


• Regularly reviews and updates the performance appraisal process to ensure its relevance and effectiveness.

HR Administration


• Ensures the efficient operation of HR functions and the maintenance of all employee records in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.


• Manages HRIS systems and other HR technologies to guarantee operational efficiency and accurate data management.

Regulatory Compliance


• Monitors and ensures compliance with all employment laws and regulations regarding compensation, workers' compensation, and equal opportunity.


• Advises management on the legal implications of HR matters related to disciplinary actions and employee grievances.

Supervisory Responsibilities


• Regularly collaborates with external HR consultants and service providers to ensure high-quality support for HR functions.


• Fosters high performance through ongoing coaching, guidance, oversight, and management to achieve positive outcomes in HR initiatives and organizational goals.

Qualifications


• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.


• A minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources, with a strong emphasis on strategic HR management.


• Proven experience in managing an HR department effectively.

Certifications


• SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, and/or SPHR certification is highly desirable.

Physical Demands


• Requires abilities such as hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, stooping, talking, typing, visual acuity, and walking.

Work Environment


• Typically operates in a climate-controlled office setting.

Travel Requirements
