Job Description

Hays Electrical Services, with a robust history of over 17 years and numerous successful multi-million dollar projects, is dedicated to delivering exceptional service across various sectors including hospitality, commercial, and solar energy. Our approach to each project is collaborative, working closely with business owners, contractors, and subcontractors to achieve a common goal – successful project completion.

We are currently looking to enhance our team by hiring a Procurement Specialist.

Position Overview:

We are in search of a meticulous and seasoned Procurement Specialist who possesses a solid background in sourcing electrical materials and equipment. The selected candidate will oversee the procurement process essential for our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sourcing and Procurement: Identify, assess, and select suppliers for electrical materials and equipment. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure optimal value for the organization.
  2. Vendor Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current suppliers while actively seeking new vendors to broaden our supplier network. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues that arise.
  3. Material Planning: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to comprehend project needs and timelines. Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to job sites.
  4. Cost Management: Analyze market trends and pricing to enhance purchasing decisions. Implement cost-saving measures while upholding quality standards.
  5. Inventory Management: Supervise inventory levels to avert shortages and excess stock. Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient storage and distribution of materials.
  6. Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and industry regulations. Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations concerning procurement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, particularly in electrical materials and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical components, materials, and equipment utilized in construction.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and the ability to foster and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is advantageous.
