As an Aviation Coating Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Applying aerodynamic sealants and preparing the aircraft by masking areas with tapes and paper products to safeguard components during the painting process.
  • Mixing, blending, and thinning paint materials according to the specifications outlined in the manufacturers' maintenance manuals.
  • Coating both the interior and exterior surfaces of the aircraft with various types of paint, including urethanes, acrylic urethanes, enamels, lacquers, and epoxy paints.
  • Interpreting technical specifications, color sketches, and instructions to plan the sequence and timing of the painting operations, including mixing ratios, surface preparation, and drying times.
  • Maintaining painting tools and equipment, such as spray guns, air hoses, and other necessary supplies.
  • Documenting all completed work accurately and clearly.
  • Adhering to and promoting company policies and procedures while striving for continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel as required.
  • Observing all safety, environmental, and housekeeping protocols.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the department.

Requirements:

  • Authorization to work in the US.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in aircraft painting.
  • Proficiency in applying paint to both the exterior and interior components of aircraft.
  • Expertise in effectively masking areas during the painting process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with various types of paints and thinners.
  • Experience in corporate aviation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, walk, bend, stretch, and climb ladders.
  • Capability to manipulate tools and equipment of various sizes.
  • Visual acuity to disassemble, inspect, and differentiate colors.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Must be able to qualify for respirator use.
