Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a DSP, you will provide individualized support and training to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in building new skills and accessing various social, recreational, leisure, and volunteer opportunities within the community.

Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals in developing daily living skills and work towards their fullest potential to foster independence.
  • Provide direct care services, including assistance with activities of daily living, toileting, and feeding, as well as hands-on support for therapeutic activities.
  • Work with individuals in small groups to develop skills and engage them in meaningful activities.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of individuals according to procedures, individualized plans, and protocols.
  • Develop relationships with community members through various activities and classes.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and collaborate on classes, community activities, and Friday Fun Day events.
  • Provide transportation using FRIENDS of Broomfield's fleet of mini buses and vans.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facility.
  • Work productively and cooperatively as a member of a team.
  • Complete daily documentation and progress notes.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of college preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet FRIENDS driving requirements.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force, physical condition to enable walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and stamina to be on feet and active for full work days.

We offer a competitive salary of $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on experience, as well as health, vision, and dental insurance, life and accident insurance, PTO, six paid sick days, eight paid holidays, 401(k) match, paid training, and an Employee Assistance Program.
