Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented Electrical Project Engineer with a focus on EV Charging systems at Westwood Professional Services, Inc. This role involves collaborating with our Electrical Engineering Team to facilitate the design and interconnection of electric vehicle charging stations and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee electrical engineering components of EV Charging and Energy Storage initiatives.
- Ensure that the electrical engineering scope aligns with contractual obligations and is integrated into the overall design.
- Work closely with project management on any necessary change orders.
- Engage with various project disciplines to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Conduct electrical engineering design and prepare construction documentation.
- Perform necessary electrical calculations and studies to support project requirements.
- Liaise with clients, utility companies, and regulatory bodies.
- Implement quality assurance and quality control measures for design outputs.
- Stay informed about the latest industry practices and innovations.
- Provide support during the construction phase of projects.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and interns in their responsibilities.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy Engineering.
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
- Proven experience in electrical distribution and construction projects.
- Ability to interpret and produce construction drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-driven with a collaborative work ethic.
- Competent in AutoCAD software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in renewable energy projects.
- Knowledge of electric vehicle charging technologies.
- Understanding of lighting design and photometric analysis.
- Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure in multiple states.
- Proficiency in modeling software for electrical power systems.
- Experience with energy storage technologies.
- Familiarity with additional software tools for power systems analysis.
